Crossroads Women is the charitable company formed by Women in Dialogue
to buy, renovate and run the new Crossroads Women’s Centre at 25 Wolsey
Mews, Kentish Town, London NW5 2DX
The
Crossroads Women’s Centre started in Euston in 1975. It moved to King’s
Cross in 1979 and then to Kentish Town in 1996 – each time becoming part
of the local community. Women in Dialogue, which ran the Centre, has
worked to advance education on race and community relations from women’s
point of view.
The
commitment of volunteers, regular donations and the financial
contributions of the over 15 groups now based at the Centre – each with
its own services and projects – have enabled it to continue.
Women
and men of every age and social background visit the Centre, and often
comment on how warm and welcoming it is. This is largely due to the way
all users co-operate with each other.
